The Bears have a lot of questions to answer on Sunday. There is no word on who will start at QB, but Eddie Goldman will return against the Lions.

On Friday, the Bears had a whirlwind of news surrounding the team ahead of their Week Four matchup with the Detroit Lions. One of the loudest topics all week out of Halas Hall was regarding the quarterbacks and who will start on Sunday. As of Friday, that continues to be a mystery as Matt Nagy refuses to name a starter until game time.

However, there are some pieces of news that can help fans put the pieces together. According to a report from Chris Emma, Andy Dalton was limited in practice for all three days this week. However, on the other end, Justin Fields was a full participant all week and appears ready for Sunday. If that is a clue on who Sunday’s starter will be, then Bears fans may see the rookie start his first game at home against the Lions.

Defensive Boost

Despite the lack of clarity regarding the quarterback position, the Bears will have a familiar face returning on their defensive line. Nose tackle Eddie Goldman participated fully in practice all week, indicating he is good to go on Sunday against Detroit.

Goldman will see his first game action since 2019 after opting out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Florida State product’s return is a sight for sore eyes. He will likely elevate the defense’s play against the 0-3 NFC North rival.

There are a lot of questions ahead of Sunday’s game that likely won’t be answered until a few hours before kick-off. For example, who’s calling plays? Who’s starting at quarterback? But, most importantly, will the Bears redeem themselves after one of the worst offensive performances in NFL history? Only time will tell. Nonetheless, those will all be answered on Sunday when the Bears return home to welcome the Lions to the Windy City.
