There is good news for the Chicago Bears on Monday. During their game against the Lions, the Bears lost a few key players due to injuries. The biggest name headlining the injury report is David Montgomery, who went down late in the game with a knee injury. After the game, reports began surfacing that the injury was not believed to be serious. Furthermore, those same sources confirmed that notion on Monday.
However, in the event that Montgomery misses a few weeks, Damien Williams would be the the next man up. However, Williams did not come out of the Lions game unscathed. During his postgame press conference, Matt Nagy confirmed that Williams had a thigh injury but did not disclose the severity. Then, on Monday morning, Ian Rapoport reported that the ailment is just a thigh bruise and he should be good to go in Week Five.
As for Akiem Hicks, he suffered a groin injury on the first defensive play of the game and never returned. Regardless, Hicks’ status has not been updated, so we’ll likely have to wait for the first official injury report to gather how severe his injury is.
