The Chicago Blackhawks are continuing to trim their training camp roster down on Friday. The team announced that forward Colton Dach and defenseman Nolan Allan were assigned to their junior teams. In addition, forwards Evan Barratt and Dmitri Osipov have been assigned to Rockford.
Dach returns to the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The younger of the Dach brothers was traded from the Saskatoon Blades to the Rockets during Blackhawks training camp. Allan will return to the Prince Albert Raiders, also of the WHL.
Barratt and Osipov will both return to Rockford, where they played during the 2021 season. Barratt played 27 games last season for the IceHogs in his first as a professional, tallying 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in the pandemic-shortened campaign. As for Osipov, he made the switch to forward from defense during the preseason. He tallied six points (two goals, four assists) in 22 games for Rockford in 2021. This will be the second and fifth AHL seasons for the two, respectively.
The Blackhawks training camp roster currently stands at 32. There will likely be one last round of assignments from the team following their preseason finale with the Minnesota Wild on Saturday at the United Center. The Blackhawks open their season on Wednesday, October 13 in Colorado as they take on the Avalanche.
