The Chicago Bears officially activated OL Larry Borom just in time before they take on the San Francisco 49ers. There was speculation amongst other offensive linemen this week that Borom would be returning. Now that the Bears have officially decreed Borom’s return, the Bears finally get some offensive line help that they so desperately need.
Larry Borom Injury-Plagued?
During the preseason, Borom suffered an injury and the Bears put him into the concussion protocol. Borom was available for the first game of the regular season against Los Angeles. The Bears took a conservative approach in his return to the field considering he played in 15 snaps during the loss to the Rams.
After only one week Borom was out again, this time he dealt with an ankle injury. He has been absent from the gridiron ever since and the offensive line desperately needs bodies. The question of if Larry can stay healthy is looming over the start to his career. It will be very interesting to watch how he plays this weekend against the 49ers.
The Bears have a revolving door of offensive line holes. They have yet to put together a fully healthy and consistent line to protect the young Justin Fields. They activated OL Larry Borom which should at least give them another person to plug into the line. His snap-count will be very closely monitored and undoubtedly the coaching staff has a lot to navigate with him.
