After a sensational week spanning three games, Chicago Wolves captain Andrew Poturalski has been named AHL Player of the Week.

Poturalski has picked up right where he left off last season. After pacing the AHL in points during the 2021 season, the Wolves’ captain is already off to a hot start. His 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in just six games is best in the AHL. Only one player in the AHL has greater than 10 points so far this season other than Poturalski. That player? Poturalski’s teammate C.J. Smith.

Over the course of the week, the 2021 scoring champion recorded nine points (four goals, five assists) with five of those points coming against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday. In Sunday’s win, the Wolves‘ fifth straight, Poturalski recorded his first career pro hat trick as well.

Poturalski’s sensational weekend has helped the Wolves win five games in a row, as well as a Central Division-best 5-1 record. This surely will not be the last time Andrew Poturalski earns league-wide honors this season. The 27-year-old forward is on an incredible pace and will be a massive reason for any Wolves success this season.
