Predictions: AEW Full Gear 2021

This PPV seems like the most stacked card in AEW history. What surprises will we see from this show? Amp and Dom share their predictions for this all-time classic.

It’s that time of year again! This is the most loaded card in AEW history. It will have a lot to live up to following All Out, which was a classic show with amazing matches and moments. This is also the first PPV since several new wrestlers arrived at the company. Get ready for some great bell-to-bell action.

Buy-In: Nyla Rose & Jamie Hayter vs. Thunder Rosa & Hikaru Shida

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: This is a little preview of the next round of the TBS Women’s Championship Tournament. This should be a fun match though. It will be interesting to see Jamie and Shida mix it up. The team of Hayter and Rose have a major strength advantage, but that won’t be enough for them in this match.

Winner: Thunder Rosa & Hikaru Shida

Dom: Another last minute addition to the already stacked Full Gear card, this matchup features some interesting storylines that could sway in either direction. Building these four women up as we get closer to anointing a TBS Women’s Champion is key. In addition, showcasing all these women’s talents will be a focal point in this match. The edge goes to Thunder Rosa and Hikaru Shida as they could benefit more from the push.

Winner: Thunder Rosa and Hikaru Shida

PAC & Cody Rhodes vs Malakai Black & Andrade El Idolo

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: This is going to be a great back and forth contest. However, it is also going to be another level of storytelling as well. At the end of it, all the fans will enjoy this one, but the team that is after a higher goal will win this one.

Winner: Malakai Black & Andrade El Idolo

Dom: A surprise matchup made just in time for Full Gear, this one has potential to be a beauty. Following the ongoing feuds between Pac and Andrade and Rhodes and Black, this match will either be a high impact thriller or end in chaos. With Andrade and Black are the fresher pairing in AEW and have been dominant in every outing, it makes sense to continue their respective runs with a win over two of the best.

Winner: Black and Andrade

Darby Allin vs MJF

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: Pillar vs Pillar, who will come out of this one with the win? MJF always seems to be unstoppable, but can Darby shock the fans with a massive win? After facing CM Punk at All Out, it seems like Darby has been stuck in the middle. However, this isn’t the show that Darby gets a win against MJF.

Winner: MJF

Dom: On a card primed for any match to be a show stealer, this one appears to be my dark horse candidate. These two young AEW stars have gone back and forth the last few weeks in a battle of mental fortitude. Their technical prowess will be on full display at Full Gear. Darby Allin has been on fire for a while now. Having him get the edge in this one benefits Allin more than it would hurt MJF.

Winner: Darby Allin

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR vs Lucha Bros(C)

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: Tag team wrestling at its finest! Two different styles of teams, but they will tear the house down as always. After getting screwed out of their AAA Tag Team Championships, the Lucha Bros will be out for vengeance!

Winner: Lucha Bros

Dom: The AAA Tag Team Champions are entering this match looking to prematurely end the Lucha Bros first Tag Title run in AEW. Both teams are some of the best Tag Teams in the world and are capable of putting on Match of The Year caliber matches every night. Having the Lucha Bros continue their reign is the only outcome that makes sense right now and a win over FTR, while also having their win over against The Young Bucks at All Out, will only solidify their current run.

Winner: Lucha Bros

CM Punk vs Eddie Kingston

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: The winner of this one is the wrestling fan base. This was a match that no one thought we were ever going to see! That said, it’s here and these two have a history with each other that dates back 15 years. The biggest issue here is Eddie Kingston doesn’t care about winning. He just wants to hurt Punk. That will cost him in the end.

Winner: CM Punk

Dom: This match is going to be brutal to say the least. The past few weeks of promos between Punk and Kingston have blurred the lines of reality and shit is getting personal. Look for both of these men to go full gear (pun intended) with Punk coming out victorious. This could also help in eventually turning Punk a bit more into heel territory as well.

Winner: CM Punk

Minneapolis Street Fight: Inner Circle vs Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, & American Top Team

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: People can’t wait to see Dan Lambert get his face kicked in by Chris Jericho that’s for sure. However, this match-up will be a fun one. The Inner Circle has a history in matches like this and they have always brought it, so don’t expect any less! They will be out for blood and evening the odds.

Winner: Inner Circle

Dom: I’ll keep this short and sweet. Dan Lambert has annoyed the shit out of me for a month. This UFC/AEW crossover has been cringey the entire time and does nothing for Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page. The Inner Circle should be in line to win this one and end this nightmare.

Winner: Inner Circle

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Tay Conti vs Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.(C)

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: Can Tay Conti keep up with all the issues that Baker brings with her? That’s a hard one for anyone to do right now. However, she has been on a winning streak and is the number one contender for a reason. She is a true threat to Baker in a one-on-one match. But that will most likely not happen as Baker should still walk out champion.

Winner: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D

Dom: Tay Conti is one of my favorites on the AEW women’s roster. I’ve been a fan since her time in NXT. However, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D is the cream of the crop and money maker of that division. I do not see her dropping the AEW Women’s Championship anytime soon as she continues her dominant run. Maybe in a few months, but not now.

Winner: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D

Finals of AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament: Miro vs Bryan Danielson

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: This is the toughest test for both men in their AEW careers! This will be a hard-hitting contest throughout. Has this been God’s plan for Miro since losing his TNT Championship? Danielson has more experience, and that should carry him to victory in this one.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

Dom: Since his arrival in AEW, Danielson has been the best possible version of himself. He puts on dream matches week in and week out, furthering his excellence in wrestling this year. On the other side, Miro has been dominant for a while now, even after losing his TNT Championship. All dependent on the winner of the main event, this one could go either way. However, I see Miro winning as he would be a great first opponent for Hangman Adam Page as champion.

Winner: Miro

Falls Count Anywhere Match: SuperKliq vs Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Christian Cage

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: The battle will rage throughout the Target Center. The SuperKliq are looking to finally put these three opponents to the side after months of being bothered by them. Jurassic Express and Christian Cage have a common goal, but not the experience as a team like the other three. That will be the defining factor in this one.

Winner: Superkliq

Dom: In a matchup of top tier talent all around, we are in for a fast-paced banger of a match. Adam Cole has been on a roll since coming to AEW and the Young Bucks are phenomenal in their own right. Christian brings the veteran presence to his team with Jurassic Express. While Jungle Boy is one of the best young talents in AEW right now, I still give the edge to the Superkliq based on cohesiveness as a unit.

Winner: Superkliq

AEW World Championship Match: Hangman Adam Page vs Kenny Omega(C)

Photo: All Elite Wrestling

Amp: This is the matchup everyone has been looking forward to for a year now. In addition, this is a story that has been building for almost three years! Omega has been unstoppable for nearly a year. With that being said, can Hangman finally break out of the slumps he gets into and break out in the biggest moment of his career? It can and will finally happen due to the most confident Cowboy we have ever witnessed. Who is ready for some Cowboy Shit?

Winner: Hangman Adam Page

Dom: Oh boy, have I been waiting for this match. The anticipation has been building throughout the wrestling fandom and industry for a long time. Hangman’s journey since AEW’s inception, and his ups and downs along the way, are what make this match a must see. His relationship with Champion Kenny Omega and then lack there of, writes the story itself. After falling short of winning the big one twice, including losing to Kenny to qualify last year at the same PPV, Hangman is the clear cut choice to hoist the AEW World Championship now.

Winner: Hangman Adam Page
