Chicago Cubs prospect Nelson Velazquez has been named the Arizona Fall League Joe Black MVP. The Cubs No. 29 prospect went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in in his final game for the Mesa Solar Sox.
Nelson Velazquez led the league with nine homers, a 1.191 OPS, and finished second in batting average hitting (.385), third in on-base percentage (.480), and fourth in RBIs (24) in 26 games played.
He becomes the first Cubs prospect to win the award since Kris Bryant in 2013.
