On Wednesday, the Chicago Bears updated the media on the injury status of numerous key players. According to the Bears via Zack Pearson, Akiem Hicks has been ruled out, Allen Robinson is doubtful, and Eddie Jackson is questionable for Thursday’s Thanksgiving game in Detroit.
Hicks did not suit up in last week’s loss to the Ravens. Due to injuries, the Pro-Bowl lineman has only appeared in seven games with Chicago this season. Now, Hicks will miss yet another game with an ankle injury. He has 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks this season.
As for Robinson, the Penn State product also missed Sunday’s game against Baltimore. Robinson has struggled this season, failing to post greater than 70 yards in any game. His best performance came against Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football when he logged 68 yards on four catches. However, on a big catch down the sideline late, Robinson injured his hamstring, which will likely hold him out another week.
Finally, it appears Eddie Jackson has an outside chance of returning on Thursday. Jackson was injured early in the loss against San Francisco at home in Week 8. Now, after sitting out the last two games and the bye week, the Alabama alum has a chance to return on Thanksgiving. His addition to the secondary would be welcomed, especially after the coverage blunders against the Ravens.
The Bears and Lions kick off at 11:30 CST on Thursday. Just as families are settling in for Thanksgiving festivities, the Bears will be looking for their fourth win of the season.
