Chicago Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy met the media Friday morning after squeaking out a win against the Lions on Thanksgiving. As expected, Nagy used this moment to take a victory lap for defeating an 0-9-1 team and reestablishing himself as the Bears’ head coach.

Nagy began by slaloming his way through the drama of last week. He first addressed the Justin Fields topic, denying the report that George McCaskey was the one who directed Nagy to start Fields. “That couldn’t be further from the truth,” Nagy said.

The next report that he strongly denied was his canceling of post-practice meetings on Tuesday. Adam Hoge of NBC Sports Chicago clarified Nagy’s reasoning.

According to Nagy, the schedule was wrong, thus making the report wrong.

Now that Matt Nagy has his account of the events on record, the Bears can move on to next week’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. However, drama will likely continue to follow the Bears and their disconcerted head coach through the remainder of the season.
