Chicago Bulls bench player Matt Thomas is the latest member of the team to enter the league’s health and safety protocols.

Thomas joins Coby White, Javonte Green, and DeMar DeRozan on the COVID list. This doesn’t include Alex Caruso, who Billy Donovan said is also out for the rest of the week. In the Bulls’ latest victory over the Nuggets, Thomas played 19 minutes with three points and three rebounds.

With Thomas now out, the Bulls will have to reach further into the Windy City Bulls for two-way players. Devon Dotson, Marko Simonovic, and Tyler Cook are already traveling with the team, but they may be needed to provide some quality minutes tonight against the Cavaliers. With 11 active players on the roster, the Bulls may need to sign a free agent to a 10-day deal as well. The team is eligible for the hardship exception, which would allow for a signing amid the number of missing players.

Once players have tested positive twice, they are typically out for two weeks. The Bulls need to hope they have this COVID-19 wave contained so White and Green can return to help the Bulls soon.
