Former Bear Olin Kreutz Needs Front Office Role

With Matt Nagy’s job on the line, Bears fans have been throwing out ideas on where to go from here. Among the voices are a bunch of former Bears that still call Chicago home. On 670 The Score, former Bears fullback Jason McKie said former center Olin Kreutz should be part of the front office in some capacity.

Kreutz is one of the analysts on NBC Sports Chicago’s Football Aftershow. Typically, Kreutz is the most critical and outspoken of the group. While Matt Nagy seems to be headed out the door, it is unclear what Ryan Pace’s future will be. With no experience in the organization outside of being a player, it would be hard to see Kreutz handed a GM job. However, Pace entertaining the former Bears center in some advisory would be interesting, especially since the offensive line needs a massive makeover.

Kreutz spent 13 of his 14-year career with the Bears. At center, Kreutz was a leader on offense during the prime Lovie Smith years. He was a first and second-team All-Pro, 6x Pro-Bowler, 4x Brian Piccolo Award winner, an NFL 2000s all-decade team member, and appeared on the 100 greatest Bears of all-time list.

Whether or not Kreutz gets this possible opportunity, he should look into getting front office experience. His personality and leadership would make him a great fit.

Olin was a very-very tough player as well as a great player. He took shit from no one.

Agree, but think Olin’s aggressive pursuit of his POV might not sit too well with modern day coaches. I hope he get’s his chance. Matt Forte also has something to contribute to Bear front office.

Olin is the reason the bears let the Packers win the last game of the season, which let them get in the playoffs. Where the beat the bears, then won the Superbowl.
Watch the game he, and the rest of the o line, played a lazy game. Bears could have easily won.
I blame Olin
