It’s that time of the year where it’s time to talk potential NBA trades. I figured it would be a good time to do so since COVID-19 is running rampant across the league. The Chicago Bulls currently hold the second seed in the Eastern Conference and can make a legitimate run in the playoffs. The question is, do they have enough? Maybe so, but if they can add another valuable piece, they could become the favorites. Enter Jerami Grant.

Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report reports the Detroit Pistons are focused on trading Grant. Grant, who is currently nursing a thumb injury, signed a three-year, $60 million deal with Detroit in 2020. If the Bulls were to execute a trade for the Syracuse alum, they’d have him through the 2022-23 NBA season.

So, what would it take to land the 27-year-old forward? Well, the Bulls would likely have to offer Patrick Williams. Williams is on the mend from a wrist injury that took place early in the 2021-22 season. That’s not all it would take though. Coby White and another bench piece such as Troy Brown Jr. would most likely need to be involved as well.

Before his injury, Grant was putting up decent numbers in Detroit. He was averaging 20.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 2.6 APG. He also added one steal per game and one block per game. However, his shooting touch wasn’t there, as he was shooting 41% from the field and 33% from downtown. Keep in mind, Grant has to be THE guy for the Pistons. If a trade were to send him to Chicago, he’d be the third or fourth scoring option.

Listen, Jerami Grant has improved mightily since entering the league. He plays decent defense, can move well without the ball, and can create for himself as well as others. If the Bulls decide to explore a trade for Grant, it could make them the favorites to come out of the East.
