Tonight’s Bulls vs. Raptors Game Is Postponed

While disappointing for fans, tonight’s postponement will give the Bulls until after Christmas to get healthy.

After the Chicago Bulls just returned to action on a back-to-back following two postponed games, another delay strikes the schedule. Tonight’s Bulls vs. Raptors game is postponed.

This time, the Bulls aren’t the team with the decimated roster. The Raptors’ outbreak includes Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes, Precious Achiuwa, and others in the NBA’s COVID protocols. Despite those absences, the Raptors still flew to Chicago only to have the game postponed.

The Bulls’ next game is against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, Dec. 26. Most of Chicago’s remaining players in protocols should be able to return then. That list includes Zach LaVine, but the Bulls managed without him over their last two contests. DeMar DeRozan led Chicago to wins over the Lakers and Rockets on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Only three Bulls’ players have experienced issues since the return to play. Guard Devon Dotson is now in the NBA’s COVID protocols while Alex Caruso (foot) and Derrick Jones Jr. (hamstring) were ruled out for Wednesday’s game.

In the meantime, the team is taking full advantage of the NBA’s hardship exceptions. Chicago native Alfonzo McKinnie signed a second 10-day contract and the team also brought in Ersan Ilyasova and Mac McClung on hardship deals.

While disappointing for fans, tonight’s postponement will give the Bulls until after Christmas to get healthy as they continue to chase down the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
