The Illini big man posted 25 points and 14 rebounds in a victory over Mizzou for his fifth straight double-double.

Preseason All-American Kofi Cockburn can add another accolade to his resume. The Illini seven-footer earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors for the first time this season.

The weekly award comes after he posted 25 points and 14 rebounds in Illinois’ victory over Mizzou. It was his fifth straight double-double and 35th overall for the star center.

This will likely not be the last time Cockburn wins this award this season. He currently ranks fourth in the country in scoring (21.8 PPG) and third in rebounding (12.1 RPG).

Unfortunately, with Illinois’ last non-conference game of the year canceled, it seems unlikely Kofi Cockburn will be able to repeat next week.
