As 2021 comes to a close, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced their finalists for the 2022 class. On Thursday, former Chicago Bears return man Devin Hester was named a finalist for the Hall of Fame. Just months ago, fans learned he was named a semifinalist in the voting process.

If you ask any Bears fan, this honor is well deserved for the former Miami Hurricane. Hester is the most electric return man in NFL history, cementing that title during his time in the NFL while shattering numerous records. He owns the record or is tied for the record in punt return touchdowns in a single season, punt return touchdowns for a career, and total return touchdowns. There have been few players as dangerous as Devin Hester when he has the ball in his hands.

Hester isn’t in the Hall of Fame just yet. However, with him making it into the finalist round, there is a very good chance the ridiculous Devin Hester is running his way into Canton, Ohio for his rightful place in football history.
