White Sox Flashback: Back-to-Back-to-Back Home Runs vs. Randy Johnson in 2005

In the dead of winter and MLB’s lockout, liven things up with the 2005 White Sox taking The Big Unit deep 3 times in a row.

As the news regarding MLB’s lockout continues to provide little to no hope in terms of ending, I have found myself watching more old baseball highlights. There are only a certain amount things to do with no baseball news. While this is already a somewhat normal practice throughout the year, or even more so a favorite winter pastime, it has been on a bit of a different level this offseason, I must admit.

While down the rabbit hole that is baseball highlights, White Sox specifically, I found this gem from the beloved 2005 season. It was a moment I admittedly had forgotten about. Tadahito Iguchi, Aaron Rowand, and Paul Konerko hitting back-to-back-to-back home runs off Randy Johnson is an absolute sight to behold. I just had to drop it right here for all to watch.

Now, we have established on Sox On Tap that back-to-back home runs are cool and tough. We have also universally agreed that going back-to-back-to-back is even more insane. Four in a row? Bedlam.

The added weight of accomplishing such a feat against a Hall of Famer like Randy Johnson is just an unexplainable baseball triumph. I am having trouble putting into words just how incredible it is. I can’t imagine what Twitter would have looked like after Paul Konerko connected on the third bomb.

Added bonus to all this: you get to hear Hawk’s home run call three times. Mercy!
