The Chicago Blackhawks will get two players — and possibly a third — back in the lineup on Friday night against the Minnesota Wild. Defenseman Seth Jones and forward Dylan Strome will be back in action after missing time in COVID Protocol. There’s a possibility forward Kirby Dach could return as well.
Seth Jones’ absence began on Jan. 11, causing him to miss the Blackhawks’ last four games. He tested out of protocol on Sunday and has been ramping back up to game action since.
On the season, Jones has 25 points (three goals, 22 assists) in 35 games while leading the Hawks in average ice time per game (25:54).
Dylan Strome entered COVID Protocol on Jan. 13 and missed the Hawks’ last three games. He returned to practice this morning and centered the top line between Brandon Hagel and Patrick Kane.
In 26 games this season, Strome has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) while averaging 14:10 of ice time.
Interim head coach Derek King also said Kirby Dach could potentially return for Friday night’s tilt vs. the Wild. Dach entered protocol with Strome on Jan. 13 and has missed the last three games as well.
Through 36 games of his third NHL season, Dach has recorded 14 points (six goals, eight assists).
Friday night’s contest marks the first game of a home-and-home between the Blackhawks and Wild. The Central Division foes do battle at the United Center at 7:30 PM CST and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago+.
