Grayson Allen Suspended 1 Game for Flagrant 2 Foul on Alex Caruso

Grayson Allen’s Flagrant 2 foul on Alex Caruso Friday that caused the Chicago Bulls‘ guard to fracture his wrist will not go unpunished. The NBA suspended Allen one game for his foul that will keep Caruso sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks, upon which time he will be re-evaluated.

The play in question happened as Caruso drove to the basket midway through the third quarter. Allen pulled Caruso out of the air, which resulted in the Bulls’ guard crashing to the court.

The officials originally ruled it a common shooting foul but upgraded it to a Flagrant 2 after review. Allen was then ejected from the game.

As expected, the play drew the ire of Alex Caruso and Billy Donovan alike.

Relative to his collegiate days, Grayson Allen has kept his nose fairly clean since entering the NBA four years ago.

While at Duke, he served a one-game suspension for tripping an opposing player for the third time in a calendar year. In 2019, he was ejected from a Summer League game after committing two flagrant fouls. But he’d only committed a Flagrant 2 foul one other time before Friday.
