
Four former Notre Dame players have advanced to the Championship Round of the NFL Playoffs with their respective teams.
Three of those four players are active, while Mike McGlinchey (quadriceps) is injured for the San Francisco 49ers.
With one player on each of the remaining four NFC teams, Notre Dame is guaranteed to be represented in the Super Bowl. Offensive lineman Aaron Banks of the 49ers upset wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown and the Green Bay Packers to make the NFC Championship Game. The 49ers will visit wide receiver Ben Skowronek and the Los Angeles Rams for a shot in the Super Bowl.
In the AFC, defensive lineman Khalid Kareem and the Cincinnati Bengals upset safety Matthias Farley and the Tennessee Titans to advance to the AFC Championship Game. The Bengals will visit the Kansas City Chiefs, who will play in their fourth consecutive title game.
