Chicago Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan will be appearing in his fifth NBA All-Star game on Feb. 20. DeRozan was the lead vote-getter for guards in the NBA Eastern Conference. This will be the third time DeRozan has been named a starter.
DeRozan came to Chicago in a sign-and-trade deal back in August. Several national media members deemed it the worst move of the offseason. DeRozan has shut that criticism down and proven to everyone around the league just how dangerous he can be.
On the season, DeRozan is averaging 26.4 PPG, 5 RPG, and 4.8 APG. He is shooting 49% from the field and 32% from downtown. DeRozan ranks sixth overall in the NBA in scoring and second in fourth-quarter scoring. He averages eight points per game in the fourth quarter alone. The only player averaging better scoring numbers in the fourth is Giannis Antetokounmpo.
This season has been a career resurgence for DeRozan. In a new environment, he has flourished and once again proven why he is one of the best players in the NBA.
