Report: Two Veterans on Chicago Bulls Radar

The Bulls could be a potential landing spot for two veteran players who could use a change of scenery.

It looks like the Chicago Bulls are eyeing two veterans that could help their squad. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com, the Bulls could be a landing spot for guard Dennis Schroder and/or forward Paul Millsap.

Dennis Schroder

Back in March 2021, a report surfaced indicating the Bulls had interest in Schroder. He has a history with Billy Donovan, so he could be a plug-and-play type guard while the Bulls are missing both Alex Caruso and Lonzo Ball.

Dennis Schroder ended up signing with the Boston Celtics this offseason where he has found some success. He has appeared in 45 games (25 starts) and averaged 14.6 PPG, 3.4 RPG, and 4.4 APG. Despite Boston’s struggles this season, Schroder has provided consistent play.

Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap also had previous links to the Bulls. He would have been a huge help had he signed in the offseason. The Bulls have been undersized all year. Millsap could have brought more veteran leadership and size to really help this Bulls team. This season has been mostly a bust for the four-time NBA All-Star. He has only appeared in 24 games and averaged 11.3 minutes per game.

Millsap is currently sitting out as Brooklyn has agreed to attempt to find a trade partner for him. If the Nets are unable to accommodate that request, they will likely buy out Millsap, and that could be an avenue to find his way to the Bulls. Millsap has prior experience with Arturas Karnisovas from his days in Denver.

It’s hard to tell what the Bulls’ front office is thinking. Like our friend Joe Cowley says, they play their cards close to their chest. This front office doesn’t let information leak. Only time will tell what transpires, but it seems Karnisovas and Marc Eversley are interested in improving the Bulls’ roster to make a real run in the playoffs.
