After wins over ranked Wisconsin and a tough Indiana team, Illinois rose five spots in this week’s AP Top 25 poll.
The Illini sit at No. 13, one spot ahead of No. 14 Wisconsin. Purdue is the lone Big Ten team ahead of Illinois in the poll, just in time for round two between the two top teams in the conference. No. 16 Ohio State and No. 17 Michigan State round out the Big Ten’s presence in the polls this week.
Illinois has a chance to fully control its own destiny with a win over Purdue on Tuesday. It would certainly help the Illini’s spot in the poll next week as well. Illinois will host Northwestern this coming weekend to round out this week’s competition for the orange and blue.
