The Chicago Bulls are the Murphy’s Law of injury reports. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and has gone wrong for Chicago. Alex Caruso, Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine, Javonte Green, and so many more have seen their names on the injury report this season. Now, Bulls’ rookie sensation Ayo Dosunmu is injured. The Illinois product is out against Charlotte with what appears to be a concussion.

Dosunmu is proving to be a steal of this past NBA Draft. As a second-round selection, Ayo is averaging 7.8 PPG, 2.6 RPG, and 2.7 APG this season. However, Dosunmu has elevated his play when the Bulls have needed him most. Over his last 10 games, the rookie is averaging 10.4 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 6.4 APG in what has mostly been a starting role. To say Ayo is exceeding everyone’s expectations in his first year would be a dramatic understatement.

Now, with Dosunmu in concussion protocol, the Bulls are missing a huge part of their team. Yes, Coby White and Zach LaVine have returned to the lineup, but Dosunmu’s presence as the starting point guard has been beneficial in Lonzo Ball’s absence. Ideally, Ayo won’t miss a ton of time while in concussion protocol. That said, in the near term, Dosunmu’s presence will be sorely missed.

The Bulls take on the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM CST and the broadcast will be on NBC Sports Chicago and ESPN. The Bulls are looking to get back in the win column after back-to-back losses to Philadelphia and Phoenix.
