Former Chicago White Sox second baseman and Gold Glove Award winner Yolmer Sanchez has signed a minor-league deal with the Boston Red Sox. Reports indicate he will receive a non-roster invite to Spring Training.
Yolmer Sanchez spent seven seasons with the White Sox. His best performance came in 2019 when the second baseman won the American League Gold Glove Award. He remained a staple in the rebuilding White Sox lineup at the time. Sanchez last played with the Sox during the shortened 2020 season.
He spent the 2021 season in the Atlanta Braves system at Triple-A Gwinnett but did not see big-league action. Across parts of seven MLB seasons, Sanchez owns a .245/.300/.360 slash line with 32 home runs and 215 RBIs.
