Last night, DeMar DeRozan earned praise from some NBA legends. During the NBA on TNT postgame show, Dwayne Wade, Shaquille O’Neal, and Tracy McGrady praised the Chicago Bulls guard. They called DeRozan “Mr. Consinsent” and said he should be among the top five NBA MVP candidates.
Wade mentioned how DeRozan didn’t have to change his game. He said he only improved it and has been playing at an All-Star level for years. Several media outlets currently have DeRozan outside of the top five in early MVP voting. It’s actually kind of disrespectful that he is that far down the list.
The Chicago Bulls have dealt with a plethora of injuries and COVID-19 cases in the 2021-22 NBA season. Through all those trials and tribulations, DeMar DeRozan has been a model of consistency that will not be denied.
On the year, DeRozan is averaging 27.9 PPG, 5.2 RPG, and 5.1 APG. He is shooting 51% from the field and 33% from downtown. He is in the midst of a historic stretch right now as well. The veteran forward has scored over 35 points in his last six games while shooting over 50% from the field.
