Chicago Bulls to Sign Tristan Thompson

The Bulls will sign veteran forward Tristan Thompson to a new contract after he is waived by the Indiana Pacers.

Tristan Thompson Bulls

The Chicago Bulls will sign forward/center Tristan Thomson, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Indiana Pacers plan to waive Thompson, and once he clears waivers, the Bulls will sign him to a new deal.

The 10-year veteran has appeared in 33 games this season. He is averaging 6 PPG and 5.2 RPG while shooting 48% from the field. Thompson stands at 6-foot-9 and weighs in at 254 pounds. He will provide a much-needed big body off the bench for the Bulls.

Given this development, Zach LaVine’s encouraging update from a knee specialist, and Alex Caruso set to resume basketball activities in about 10 days, it was quite the day for the Bulls. Signing a veteran with a championship pedigree like Tristan Thompson will surely be beneficial heading into the postseason.
