Following Chicago Bulls‘ practice on Wednesday, head coach Billy Donovan provided injury updates on four players, and the news is encouraging. Here’s the latest on Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and Patrick Williams.

NBA All-Star Zach LaVine will return to the Bulls lineup Thursday night against the Atlanta Hawks. LaVine had some swelling in his left knee and saw a specialist last week. That session went “very well,” according to Donovan, and LaVine participated in NBA All-Star Weekend. Now, the coast seems to be clear as Zach is back after missing the Bulls’ last three games.

Lonzo Ball is also ramping up, according to Donovan. He has been doing some running and non-contact shooting drills as he rehabs from a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Furthermore, Alex Caruso is participating in practice, albeit with a taped-up wrist. Donovan hopes Caruso will be able to do some work with a basketball in his hands late this week or early next week. The defensive stalwart is working his way back from a broken wrist he suffered on Jan. 21.

Finally, second-year forward Patrick Williams is working with the ball in his hands but isn’t taking contact yet. Donovan said Williams does not have a return-to-practice date yet.

It’s been speculated that all of the aforementioned Bulls’ players could return in mid-March. If that’s the case, this team could actually roll into the playoffs healthy for the first time since game five of the 2021-22 season.

The Bulls currently hold second place in the Eastern Conference and are poised to make their first playoff run since 2017.
