The Chicago Blackhawks will be without one of their mainstays on the blue line Friday night against the New Jersey Devils. Defenseman Jake McCabe will not play due to lower back issues.
On the season, McCabe has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 46 games. The 28-year-old averages 19:59 of ice time per game, which ranks third among Blackhawks’ defensemen.
In Jake McCabe’s absence, Chicago will likely insert Erik Gustafsson back into the lineup. Gustafsson last played on Feb. 17 against Columbus before being a healthy scratch in the Blackhawks’ last two games.
