Bulls’ Tristan Thompson Ready to Play ‘Chippy’ vs. Grayson Allen and Bucks

“Take one of my dawgs out like that, we going to have issues. We got to set the tone. Guys are going to play chippy? Let’s play chippy.”

The last time the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks met, there was some bad blood. Alex Caruso suffered a broken wrist as a result of an egregious flagrant foul by Grayson Allen. Now, the Central Division foes will meet at the United Center on Friday night. The Bulls certainly haven’t forgotten what happened on Jan. 21 — and that extends to a player who wasn’t even on Chicago’s roster at the time. Tristan Thompson, who joined the Bulls in February, said he’s ready to play “chippy” against the Bucks in this meeting.

Caruso won’t be able to suit up due to the injury, but his teammates clearly have his back. And even though Thompson was with the Kings at the time of the incident, he’s ready to go to battle for his new teammate.

Yes, the Bulls’ ideal form of revenge should happen on the scoreboard. The Bucks trail Chicago by one game in the Eastern Conference standings, so widening that gap is the main objective. But in the heat of competition, tempers can run high.

Grayson Allen’s reputation of questionable (and that’s a generous descriptor) plays precedes him. He certainly knows the Bulls will have a target on his back. But this time around, he’ll have some bigger bodies to deal with.

Tristan Thompson stands at 6-foot-9 and weighs in at 254 lbs. It’s unlikely Allen would dare contest him as aggressively as he did Caruso, but Thompson seems to be ready for anything based on the above comments.

Grab your popcorn, folks. Friday night’s Bulls vs. Bucks matchup could feature some more fireworks.
