The chemistry a quarterback builds with a receiver through college is special. We’ve seen what Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase can do. The Chicago Bears have a unique opportunity. They can reunite Justin Fields with former teammate Chris Olave, a wide receiver from Ohio State. If they can do this, they’ll win the NFL Draft.
Chris Olave: Scouting Combine Performance and Comments
Going into the NFL Scouting Combine and the draft, Chris Olave was projected quite high. After his performance at the Combine, it’s hard to argue that he isn’t going to be one of the first receivers off the board come April.
His workout was impressive. He ran a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash and recorded a 32-inch vertical jump and a 10′ 4″ broad jump. His numbers were around average but his skills showcase was impressive. He caught nearly everything he saw and showed some incredible athleticism.
Chris Olave Would Love To Reunite With Justin Fields
When asked if he would like to come to the Chicago Bears and play with Justin Fields, Chris Olave stated he would definitely welcome it.
“I feel like we can complement each other if we do end up on the same team.”

In college, these two racked up solid numbers together because they built a great foundation. In 20 games together, Olave caught nearly 100 passes from Fields for almost 1,600 yards. But they scored 19 touchdowns and that’s really where it counts. They nearly scored together once per game in that span.
Pulling off this feat is no easy task. The Bears only have five picks in the 2022 NFL Draft and Chris Olave is a hot commodity. Without a first-round pick, the Bears may miss out on their chance. But if they got aggressive, they could potentially trade up in the draft to pick Olave. If they can do that, they just might win the offseason right there in April.
