New ‘Alien’ Movie Coming To Hulu With ‘Evil Dead’ Director Fede Alvarez and Ridley Scott

A new Alien film is coming and it won’t be connected to the two prequels.

Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise is some of the best science fiction around. Not many franchises get the superior treatment of living across five different decades. Alien has already done that and it appears as though it will continue. But there is a new Alien film coming to Hulu and Fede Alvarez will direct it.

Ridley Scott began the prequels to the Alien franchise with Prometheus. Depending on who you talk to, the film was a massive success. Some fans were quite annoyed that the famous Xenomorph from Alien wasn’t involved at all in Prometheus. But the film set up a beautiful foundation and backstory that gives the Xenomorph even more terror.

Then Scott continued his prequel series with Alien: Covenant. This film got even more mixed reviews and made fans question what the hell Ridley was doing. The plan, allegedly, was to make three prequel films. These would run directly up to the original Alien film and planet LV-426. Covenant came out in 2017 and the chances of that continuing are less likelier than ever. With HBO Max’s hit Sci-Fi series Raised by Wolves — which Ridley Scott produces — and the news of a new Alien film he’s connected to, a final prequel film doesn’t seem practical.

An ‘Alien’ Film By ‘Evil Dead’ Director Fede Alvarez

It doesn’t really matter who signs on to direct a new Alien film as long as Ridley Scott produces it. That being said, they picked quite a mind to take the reigns here. Fede Alvarez is most well-known for directing the 2013 remake ‘Evil Dead’ and 2016’s ‘Don’t Breath’. The focus Alvarez put into a bloodier and more shocking remake of a classic in ‘Evil Dead’ is what landed him this opportunity.

He’s also a rabid fan of the Alien films and 20th Century Fox greenlit this project “purely off the strength of his pitch” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

No one is going to ask Alvarez to remake one of the most iconic science fiction films of all time. The guy who directed it himself especially won’t. But he has an opportunity to put his fresh take just like he’s done before and that is exciting.

I want him to Finish the prequels……engineers are an awesome story line….the problem with the prequels were their marvel/Star Wars sized budget which is ridiculous for R rated horror/sci fi movies. Prometheus is a phenomenal movie
