Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan provided some injury information today. Donovan said that Zach LaVine isn’t in pain, he’s just been hampered by stiffness. Additionally, Alex Caruso will meet with a doctor tomorrow to see when he can be cleared to return to action.

Zach LaVine hasn’t been the same since he tweaked his knee back in January against the Golden State Warriors. Over the All-Star break, he flew to a specialist Los Angeles and had his knee drained of fluid. He also received an injection that is supposed to help with the pain and swelling. Apparently, sometimes this causes his knee to stiffen up. Some nights he has it, other nights he doesn’t.

Alex Caruso has been out since suffering a broken wrist resulting from a Grayson Allen flagrant foul in late January. Caruso was the Bulls’ defensive anchor prior to the injury. Since he went down, Chicago’s defensive efficiency has ranked near the bottom of the league.

The Bulls have been struggling and are currently on a four-game losing streak. They have been letting up 119 points per game over their last five contests. Reinforcements in Caruso, Lonzo Ball, and Patrick Williams are on the way and should help the Bulls improve defensively.
