The full trailer for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is out and the movie looks NUTS. Nicolas Cage has made some… interesting movie choices of late. Many of the releases have screamed, “Hey, a paycheck is a paycheck” and direct to VOD. He’s had some good ones in there as well, like 2017’s Mom and Dad. His success in black comedies is what has me so cheesed for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Check out the trailer below:
‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ Plot
Cage stars as a fictionalized version of himself who is struggling to land roles in Hollywood. Down on his luck, he gets a call from his agent for a gig too easy to pass up, just being himself. He receives a $1M offer to appear at the birthday party of Javi Gutierrez (Pedro Pascal). While a superfan, Javi is a bit more than meets the eye. While bonding with Javi, Cage finds out that he’s wanted by Central Intelligence. They want his help in bringing down Javi. As the trailer shows, Javi and Cage will have a little…Face/Off.
The movie looks like the perfect combination of comedy, star power, and self-depreciation that can be just what Nicolas Cage needs to get back on top. Or at least inspire the abandoned Tiger King series!
