The rumors surrounding former Chicago Bears QB Mitch Trubisky previously had him linked to the New York Giants. It was questionable whether or not he would be a good fit there. Now, according to Mike Garafolo, Trubisky has signed a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Prior to the signing, according to Ian Rapoport, the Steelers were linked to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Jimmy’s time in San Francisco is likely over and his future is uncertain.
Trubisky is joining a rebuilding Steelers squad that is facing tough adversity for the first time in years. Ben Roethlisberger never had a losing season during his time in Pittsburgh. Head coach Mike Tomlin likely sees something in Mitch Trubisky that he likes.
On The Pat McAfee Show on YouTube, former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky joined Pat and the crew. Dan states that Matt Nagy held Trubisky back in Chicago under his offensive scheme. He says that Nagy never let Mitch reach his full potential and use his full athleticism.
Trubisky made the decision between the Giants and the Steelers. Becoming the starter was the determining factor that led to him joining Pittsburgh.
