NFL free agency continues to roll on with more player movement. Former Chicago Bears guard James Daniels is close to finalizing a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Steelers are offering Daniels a three-year, $26.5 million deal.

James Daniels’ Time in Chicago

James Daniels is 24 years old and played the entire four years of his NFL career with the Chicago Bears. The Bears drafted Daniels 39th overall in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 327 lb offensive lineman played in 54 games during his four years in Chicago.

During both the 2019 and 2021 NFL seasons, he played in 100% of the Bears’ offensive snaps in which he was available. He also played in 186 snaps on special teams, averaging about 13% of all special teams snaps.

In 2020, Daniels only played in five games. But in every other year, he played the full season. Daniels will join former Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in Pittsburgh, who just agreed to sign a two-year deal worth $14 million.
