With Chicago being the basketball Mecca, the NBA has always loved to hold events in Chicago, including the All Star Game. That tradition will continue with the NBA hosting the NBA Draft Combine and NBA Lottery in Chicago.

NBA Draft Combine

The NBA Draft Combine will take place May 16-22. Last year, the NBA held the Combine at Wintrust Arena, the home of the Chicago Sky. The Combine is where college players come to meet the media, NBA front offices, and scouts, to show off their skills. They also undergo some medical tests and measurements. The attendees are based on invitation only.

NBA Draft Lottery

The NBA Draft Lottery will take place May 17. This will take place in Chicago but the NBA hasn’t specified exactly where yet. The NBA Draft Lottery is for teams that did not make the playoffs. The teams have a percentage chance of winning the lottery based on least amount of wins to get the best odds. Then, the order is randomly selected to figure out the draft order.

The culmination of these events close in Brooklyn for the NBA Draft. This is where players from college, the G League, and international leagues are selected by NBA teams. The NBA is selling tickets to the draft this year.
