Rick Hahn: Current White Sox Lineup Can Be Championship Caliber

Chicago White Sox General Manager Rick Hahn believes that the White Sox lineup currently constructed “can be” championship caliber.

Rick Hahn met with the media today and was posed with a serious question from CHGO’s Vinnie Duber. Hahn was asked, is this Chicago White Sox lineup championship caliber? Obviously, Hahn went full lawyer and said he thinks it can be with some growth from the young guys.

It’s no secret the White Sox had trouble scoring runs last year when games mattered the most. A lot of that could be contributed to the injuries that plagued the team for much of the year too. I just find this amusing. Not because I am trying to be a pessimist, but because, really? Do we really think this lineup is championship caliber? There is still a glaring hole in right field. Spare me the Adam Engel, Gavin Sheets, and Andrew Vaughn trio.

If the White Sox truly want to compete, Hahn needs to fill the holes that still exist within the lineup. The White Sox have been linked to Michael Conforto and a left-handed power bat is much needed. I could go on and on about this, but I’ll stop here. I love that Hahn has confidence, I just wish I believed what he was saying. If they want to win a World Series, they need to be aggressive and make it happen, not just wait in the wings and hope players develop.

Someone please tell Rick Hahn that the Chicago White Sox dont have a Championship lineup, team or pitching staff. He needs to get off his ass and find the Sox a starting power hitting right fielder, a second baseman and at least 2 starting pitchers. Will someone please tell him about (Castellanos or Azuna ) How about a dh (Solar ). Hahn is counting on the kids to do to much, let them grow up. Bith the Twins and Tigers have gotten better in the off season. The Guardians will be better with Bieber returning and the Royals always play the Sox tough. Get off your (Ass) Hahn and sign a couple players. And stop counting on Kopek.

Hahn is delusional if he thinks this lineup can compete. They have the same problem as last year. No 2nd baseman, no RF and they are short at least one starting pitcher.

Sox when dumpster diving in again.. so we get a supposed 2nd baseman that is going to be 35, on the downslope of his career. Put similar numbers to Garcia last season. And, will probably this years version of Adam Eaton.

Then his signs a starting pitcher that has a career ERA about 5.00. Have never been able to consistently pitch at big league level and if started will cost them games, when the other teams tee off on him. So you basically Reynaldo Lopez 2.0.

What joke!!!!!!
