The Chicago White Sox announced a few changes to their 2022 schedule. When the lockout crept into early March, MLB initially canceled the first two series of the season across the league. However, a new CBA came together shortly after and the league intended to make up those series. Here’s how it affects the South Siders.
vs. Minnesota
The White Sox were initially scheduled to open the season with a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins spanning March 31-April 3.
That divisional clash will now become the final series of the Sox regular season. The White Sox and Twins will play that three-game set spanning Oct. 3-5 at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Oct. 3 and 4 games begin at 7:10 PM CT and the season finale’s start time is TBD.
at Kansas City
Originally scheduled for April 4-7 in Kansas City, the White Sox then-second series of the year will be dispersed between a pair of doubleheaders and a previous off-day.
The April 4 game will now become the first contest of a split doubleheader at 1:10 PM CT on May 17. The April 6 game gets a similar treatment, becoming Game 1 of a split doubleheader at 1:10 PM CT on August 10. Finally, the April 7 game moves to a previously mutual off-day between the AL Central foes: Monday, August 22 at 7:10 PM CT.
