According to Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears have reportedly come to an agreement on a deal with defensive tackle Justin Jones on Friday. GM Ryan Poles quickly pivoted after the deal with defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi fell through due to a failed physical.

Furthermore, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting the signing as a two-year deal.

Justin Jones will replace Ogunjobi at the three-technique position in the Bears’ new defensive scheme. The 25-year-old defensive tackle was a third round pick for the Chargers in 2018. In his four years with that organization, he has logged the following stats over 51 games:

  • 118 total tackles (63 solo, 55 assisted)
  • 12 tackles-for-loss
  • 13 QB hits
  • 4.5 sacks

Of those 51 games, Jones started 35 of them.
