The Chicago Bears continue their flurry of signings on Friday. This time, Ryan Poles has called upon Khari Blasingame who released the news via his Instagram story on his account.

While the signing doesn’t scream star power, it does signal a philosophy shift. Blasingame is a fullback, a position that isn’t used in every offensive scheme. This narrows down what scheme new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy plans on running. The Chicago Bears haven’t had a major permanent fullback since Jason McKie.
Blasingame comes from the Tennessee Titans. He played in 32 games over the past three years. He is a solid target out of the backfield, averaging 9.7 yards-per-reception. On the running side, he was paired with star running back Derrick Henry, so he blocked most of the time. Since he’ll be paired with a downhill runner like David Montgomery, fans should expect more of the same.
