Well, this is news that not a single Chicago Bulls fan wanted to hear. The Bulls announced that NBA All-Star guard and MVP candidate DeMar DeRozan will miss tonight’s contest. DeRozan is suffering from a left adductor injury and will not suit up against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Bulls are 3-7 in their last 10 games and quickly falling from the top of the Eastern Conference standings. They currently sit in the fifth seed, two games out of the seventh seed. If the Bulls were to fall to the seventh seed, they would be in the NBA Play-In tournament. Obviously, that alone would be a crushing blow to the Bulls who were first in the Eastern Conference for a majority of the season.
On the season, the Bulls are 2-2 with DeMar DeRozan out of the lineup. He is averaging 27.6PPG, 5.3RPG, and 5APG. He is shooting 50% from the field and 34% from downtown. The Bulls have a tough test in front of them in the Pelicans, who are hopeful to make the Western Conference Play-In tournament.
