Chicago White Sox right fielder Andrew Vaughn exited Sunday’s Spring Training game on a cart after suffering an apparent lower-body injury. In the bottom of the fourth inning, he made a nice diving catch to record the first out of the frame.
Vaughn was in some discomfort after he stood up, but it didn’t appear to be a significant ailment. He looked to be in good spirits and shook out his leg a bit when centerfielder Luis Robert came over to check on him.
Then, the White Sox training staff came onto the field to attend to Vaughn. Manager Tony La Russa and the training staff eventually called for a cart, which took Vaughn off the field.
UPDATE: The Chicago White Sox announced that Andrew Vaughn is dealing with right hip discomfort. He is currently undergoing further evaluation.
