The Chicago Blackhawks will get Tyler Johnson back in the lineup when they take on the Buffalo Sabres Monday night. The forward has missed the team’s last six games while in concussion protocol.
Johnson has endured an injury-plagued season to date. A neck ailment that required surgery initially sidelined him for four-plus months. In just his sixth game after returning from the neck injury, he took a puck up high that placed him in concussion protocol.
In 14 games this season, Johnson has three points (one goal, two assists), all of which came before his first absence. Now, he will have a chance to get back on track tonight when the Blackhawks host the Sabres.
With Tyler Johnson reentering the lineup, MacKenzie Entwistle will be a healthy scratch. Additionally, it seems Kirby Dach will be a game-time decision after he did not participate in the team’s morning skate due to a non-COVID illness. Regardless, Chicago Blackhawks’ interim head coach Derek King plans for Dach to be ready to go for tonight’s contest.
