It was a wet one in the Windy City as the Chicago Red Stars hosted Racing Louisville on Wednesday night. As predicted by Red Stars head coach Chris Petrucelli, it would be a rainy and entertaining matchup. Both teams played competitively on defense in this contest, which ended in a 0-0 draw.

Goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher stole the show as she held Louisville scoreless, blocking all five shots on target.

Diving into the numbers, Chicago outshot Louisville 13-2 but only placed two of those attempts on target. Possession slightly favored the home side, 51.7% to 48.3%, as did passing accuracy, 76.9% to 77.1%. Nevertheless, inclement weather conditions and the defensive tone of the match kept both sides off the scoreboard.

Altogether, the Red stars put together another solid effort. Their record now sits at 1-1-1, good for four points during NWSL Challenge Cup action.
