On Wednesday morning, the Chicago Sky traded Lexie Brown to the Los Angeles Sparks in exchange for the rights to Li Yueru.

The four-year veteran played 17 games for the Sky in 2021, averaging 1.6 PPG and 1.1 APG in 9.5 MPG.

Acquiring Yueru brings considerable length to Chicago’s roster. The 6-foot-7 center is a marquee player for the Chinese national team. In the Tokyo Olympics, she averaged 14.8 points and 8.3 rebounds while shooting 78.6% from the field.

The Atlanta Dream selected Li Yueru with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft. She has not played in a WNBA game to date, so it will be interesting to see what her future holds.

Adding Yueru to the mix should make for a competitive Chicago Sky training camp as players fight for roster spots.
