Chicago Blackhawks’ forward Kirby Dach is dealing with a right shoulder sprain. The 21-year-old exited Thursday’s game against San Jose early in the third period and did not practice Friday.
Dach logged just 8:46 of ice time before his premature departure vs. the Sharks. He finished his last shift 2:25 into the final frame.
On the season, Dach has 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) in 70 games. The Blackhawks’ former third overall draft pick has not lived up to lofty expectations to date, but injuries have played a big part in his stagnated development. During the already COVID-shortened 2021 season, recovering from a wrist injury limited Dach to just 18 games.
The Chicago Blackhawks have a quick turnaround as they visit the Nashville Predators on Saturday at 11:30 AM CT. If Kirby Dach’s shoulder injury prevents him from suiting up, Tyler Johnson is a prime candidate to reenter the lineup.
