
The Chicago Bulls now know where they will pick in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft. The NBA announced Monday the results of tiebreakers between teams with identical regular-season records. The Bulls won a tiebreaker over the Minnesota Timberwolves and now own the 18th overall pick.
Chicago and Minnesota both finished the 2021-22 regular season with a 46-36 record. But luck was in the Bulls’ favor come drawing time, meaning Arturas Karnisovas and co. will select at pick No. 18 instead of pick No. 19.
The Chicago Bulls were one of four teams to win tiebreaker decisions on Monday. The Raptors prevailed over the Nuggets to earn pick No. 20. In a three-way tie, the Sixers came out on top of the Bucks and Celtics with the No. 23 pick. Milwaukee will hold the No. 24 pick with Boston selecting at No. 25. Finally, the Heat topped the Warriors in the game of chance to snag pick No. 27, dropping Golden State to pick No. 28.
The 2022 NBA Draft Lottery to determine the top half of the board takes place May 17 in Chicago. The draft itself is on June 23 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
