The Chicago Bulls evened up their first-round playoff series at one by defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 114-110 on Wednesday. The Bucks saw two of their players leave Game 2 with injuries. Khris Middleton exited with knee soreness, which turned out to be an MCL sprain that will keep him out 3-4 weeks. That timeline means he will miss the rest of the series vs. the Bulls.

In wake of that loss, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer needed some positive news regarding the rest of his team’s injury report.

Bobby Portis

Bobby Portis left Game 2 with an eye bleed. While he did not return to the contest, he is not listed on the Bucks’ Thursday injury report. The injury didn’t seem to recover a prolonged recovery regardless.

The Bucks sorely missed Portis’ presence in Game 2. Milwaukee lacked energy and had poor body language. Portis is the type of player who always finds the littlest things to fire him up. That’s why the fans in Milwaukee love him.

For Game 3, expect Portis to play like a poked bear. The eye scratch will give him another reason to play pissed off. Further adding to his motivation, he is a former Chicago Bull. Portis played in Chicago during an era of Bulls basketball that saw him underutilized. He didn’t have the ability to truly break out of his shell until he landed in Milwaukee.

George Hill

Milwaukee Bucks guard George Hill has yet to appear in a game in the series against the Bulls. He has been out dealing with abdominal issues.

Coach Budenholzer said it would still be a while before Hill is an option to play. With Khris Middleton out for the series, Hill would have a useful option for the Bucks. He presumably would have taken over at the point while Jrue Holiday and Wesley Matthews would shift to the wing. Against an undersized Chicago Bulls team, Milwaukee would have had no problems running that lineup.
