Silver linings, am I right? If you’re a Chicago Bulls fan, maybe this quote will pick you up! “The Chicago Bulls are almost there. Maybe next year.” Yesterday afternoon, the Chicago Bulls were blown out at home once again by their division foe Milwaukee Bucks. The Bulls have not had an answer for the Bucks’ length or intensity on the court outside of a game two win.
It’s nice to hear that someone with a plethora of NBA experience and knowledge thinks the Bulls can turn this into something. I guess expectations were high with how the Bulls started the season. As we all know, injuries and COVID-19 ran rampant through the team for the majority of the year. This caused many key rotational players to miss time, which hurt the Bulls.
We could sit here and go down the rabbit hole of what Shaq means by “almost there”, but we won’t. Everyone who has kept up with the Bulls knows they need to add more size and defense in the middle. Could it be Rudy Gobert? Deandre Ayton? Will it be some sort of blockbuster trade featuring Nikola Vucevic? The possibilities are endless with this front office, which isn’t scared to get their hands dirty and shake things up.
Again, silver linings. Shaq must see something in this Bulls team that shows they are for real, but just need a few more pieces. Only time will tell.
