Last month, the Chicago Bears nearly completed a deal with defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi. They were about to sign the 27-year-old lineman to a three-year, $40.5 million deal. However, that fell through when Ogunjobi didn’t pass his physical and the Bears were forced to scrap the contract.
Larry Ogunjobi is a dedicated and hard-working football player. He’s posted many times about fighting through adversity and shown that he’s still training. He’s trying to get back in shape and recover from the foot injury he sustained in the playoffs. In addition, he’s also increasing his overall health after he failed a physical.
Is Larry Ogunjobi Training To Earn A Contract With The Chicago Bears?
Several days ago, Ogunjobi posted some photos of the most recent training sessions on his Instagram. But there are some interesting Easter Eggs hidden in plain sight.
Notice the logo on the weights suggesting that he’s training at a Chicago Bears facility. Furthermore, there are more shots of him training and the Bears’ logo can be seen clearly in the background.
This is pure speculation at this point, but it offers hope that Larry Ogunjobi could become a Chicago Bear in 2022. Since the NFL Draft is only a few days away, the chances of a signing happening this week are slim. But if Ogunjobi’s health significantly improves, then Bears GM Ryan Poles might just offer him another deal.
Poles did go out and sign DT Justin Jones for the missing three-technique defensive lineman that head coach Matt Eberflus desires. That said, if Ogunjobi resurrects his health and comes back fierce, the Chicago Bears should absolutely sign this beast of a defensive lineman.
